Isle Of Skye

Welcome to this Isle of Skye Astronomy website.

You will find information here on what is happening in the night sky throughout the year from the Isle of Skye.

Venus
Make the most of seeing Venus this month as it approaches the Sun very quickly and will be lost in the glare by May 29th.

Look to the West-Northwest Venus is still very bright.

Due to our latitude of 57 degrees 26 minutes North the nights become very short during the summer months with only an hour or two of darkness in June.

With darkening nights a large variety of objects are available to to observe including the Planets, Stars, Galaxies, Comets & Nebula. With the naked eye there are Meteorites (Shooting Stars), Fireballs, Meteor Showers, Satellites and on occasion the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).
